Couching!!!

Couching...anyone ever been? One couch-2 skis-approximately 10 people = FUN

So tonight just happened to be the only cold night of this winter, and also the night we chose to go couching. We went to Connor's Hill. It had been completely iced over between some rain and now cold weather.. Perfect. Helmets were of course a requirement to ride the couch.

This, below is our trusty chariot...it slowly got demolished.. We'd ride it down, and push it up.. Nearing the end of the night...we got a little lazier, and decided to pick it up with the truck and drive back up. A few of the boys would ride on it to keep it still. My goodness, what a crazy night.

Deer Run

It's been awhile since I've blogged. But I've been busy....hitting deer and what not. Anyways, this is what happened. Thought I was out for a nice drive to Vermilion at about 6:00. The sun was setting and I just came over a hill, when a deer jumped out from my blind spot right into my car. Now oddly enough, the first thing I thought was, "My gosh..I don't think I've ever really screamed before!" Because the sound that came from my mouth was so foreign. So, I don't know if the deer died, however it did roll a couple times, and leave a lot of itself in my car.

Now, when the deer hit, it managed to push the fender onto my tire so I had some difficulty driving. I pulled over, and (didn't have a phone..) was upset and unsure what to do. When God sent me a couple good samaritans.. THANK YOU!!! Two guys stopped and were able to pull out my fender just enough so I could drive. They also gave me their numbers and said they would call me in 2 hours to make sure I got there alright. God definitely sent me an angel that night, thankfully.

So anyways..I now have to crawl in through the passenger door because the driver side does not open. This has gotten me into a lot of funny moments already. I was in the mall parking lot, and there was a car parked directly infront of me, facing my car....and a man sitting in it. So I then proceeded to unlock the passenger side and get it.. I sat there for a moment, and then jumped the stick shift when the man suddenly got a blank look on his face.. and started to laugh.. So I waved politely and drove away.

Well, I think that is enough on the deer bit for now. (ps..I don't think the pictures do justice to just how much damage there really is.)
